"That is not my intention. There is a man named Sheba son of Bichri, from the hill country of Ephraim, who has rebelled against King David. Deliver this one man, and I will withdraw from the city."
2 Samuel 20:21
Joab and the men of Judah were pursuing Sheba because he had wickedly led Israel away from their king. He had holed himself up in the city of Abel, to which Joab's troops laid siege. Once the people communicated with Joab about his intentions in the siege, they were more than happy to decapitate the man in question and throw his head over the wall.
Question of the Day:
How often are you able to resolve disputes merely by opening up lines of communication? For me, as a teacher, it happens every single day.
Prayer of the Day:
Lord, there are disputes between the righteous desires You have placed in my heart and the selfishness of my earthly flesh. Help me to open up an appropriate dialogue between these battling forces and find ways to peace between them, so that I might be able to more closely walk in Your narrow path and show others how to do so, also. Amen.
