2 Samuel 14: Banishment

"But God would not take away a life; He would devise plans so that the one banished from Him does not remain banished."
2 Samuel 14:14b

Joab sent a woman to speak with the king and convince him to bring his son Absalom back from banishment.  The scheme involved having the woman pretend to be in mourning, and essentially they deceived David into guilt-tripping himself.  However, one flawless argument was made, as seen above.

The Lord does everything in His power to bring His children back to Him.

Question of the Day:
Where would we be if God didn't devise plans to end our banishment?  Where can we possibly go that isn't within His Kingdom?

Prayer of the Day:
Lord, thank You for devising plans for my life - for bringing me back to You.  Help me to forgive others the way that You forgive me.  Help me to treat all those around me like the brothers and sisters they are, with all the respect and dignity that should be bestowed upon sons and daughters of the King of Kings.  Help Your followers set the example for nonbelievers so that they may come to know You through our actions and come to appreciate Your grace within us.  Amen.
