2 Samuel 18: True Love

"The king was deeply moved and went up to the gate chamber and wept.  As he walked, he cried, 'My son Absalom!  My son, my son Absalom!  If only I had died instead of you, Absalom, my son, my son!'"
2 Samuel 18:33

I hear the question often, and have even asked it myself in the past: "Why would God choose to save us, after we've been so horrible to Him?"  The day I became a father, I understood the answer to that question.  No matter what happens, I will always love him and desire the best for him.  There is nothing that he, nor anybody else, can do to take my love from him.

Question of the Day:
We earthly fathers have this kind of love.  How much greater must be the love of our Heavenly Father?

Prayer of the Day:
Lord, I bask in Your unfailing Love!  I know that You have loved me, for how else could I be able to show such love to others?  I thank You for raising me up in righteousness and disciplining me so that I might learn the joy of a mature and wholesome soul.  Continue to lead me as Lord over my life, lifting me up when I need You, and guiding me through the narrow path.  Help me to become a son worthy of Your unfailing Love.  Amen!
