Genesis 20

"Abraham said about his wife Sara, 'She is my sister.'  So Abimelech king of Gerar had Sarah brought to him."
Genesis 20:2

Again!?  Next time, find a cave somewhere out of the way, or something...  Stop giving your wife to other men!  I know God intervened, and told Abimelech the truth, but wouldn't it be better to avoid even the possibility of another man sleeping with her?

And isn't Sarah supposed to be over 100 years old by this point?  She must really age well for Abraham to be afraid for his life at this point because of her beauty.

I think the best lesson to be drawn out of this chapter, though, has to be Abimelech's vision from God.  Most times that we sin, we know about it and do it knowing that it's wrong.  In the case of Abimelech, he had a clear conscience because he didn't know that Sarah was Abriham's wife.  How often do we find out after-the-fact that something we've done has been devastating?  If only we all listened to the voice of God when He steers us away from evil...
