Genesis 22

"And all the nations of the earth will be blessed by your offspring because you have obeyed My command."
Genesis 22:18

And how truly blessed we are!  How much more could we be blessed than the offering Jesus made on the cross for us?

...

Completely lost my train of thought.  Too many distractions in this house.  Maybe I should start getting up at 5am again, so I can get my bible time in before my wife and son are up?  I wonder if that would help...

...

Starting over... Jesus is from the line of Abraham - one of his offspring.  God used Abraham's offspring to bless all nations because of his obedience.  I don't think that means Jesus wouldn't have saved us if Abraham hadn't obeyed.  Rather, I think that it means Jesus would have been born to a different line.  Jesus was born to his Jewish family in the line of Abraham and of David because they were men of God, and their whole nation belonged to God.  What better place for God's son to be born?

I'm sure I was going somewhere with this, but now all concentration is lost.  It seems to have been that way for a few days now - short posts because I keep getting distracted away from what I was going to say.  I need to find a good way of avoiding that - maybe headphones and some soothing music?  We'll see...
