Genesis 35

"He took his last breath and died, and was gathered to his people, old and full of days. His sons Esau and Jacob buried him."
Genesis 35:29

I like this description of Isaac's passing. There's no mention of sorrow, no mention of pain, no mention of anything wrong. I hope that, when I pass, it can be said of me that I am old and full of days, and that my sons bury me.

Unfortunately, if I keep treating my body the way I have been (overindulging in all the wrong foods, and refusing to exercise), I won't make it that long... Everybody has their vice - the thorn in their side that seems impossible to break free of, even if we know how deadly it can be for us. Mine is gluttony. What's yours?

Prayer of the Day

Give me Your strength so that I may overcome the habits and lifestyle decisions that are killing me. Free me from the shackles of sin that bind me. Help me to set a positive example for my family, so that they may also overcome their own vices. Amen.
