"The wealthy may not give more, and the poor may not give less, than half a shekel when giving the contribution to the Lord to atone for your lives."
When asking for offerings for supplies to build the tabernacle and all its ornaments, God said that the people should give whatever they feel stirred to give. However, for the atonement payment, every person is required to give the same amount, no matter their status.
Every life is worth the same amount to the Lord. No man is worth more or less than another in God's eyes.
Question of the Day:
Is there anyone in your life who you treat unequally? Do you ever find yourself thinking someone else is worthless? Do you reject anyone based on their status, their actions, their beliefs, or anything else?
Prayer of the Day:
Open my heart to see every person's worth, as You do. Lead me towards acceptance and grace, and convict me when I cast others out. Help me to be productive in all my interactions with other people, and help me to be a shining example of Your love for all who see me. Amen.
