"Bezalel made the ark... He constructed the table... Then he made the lampstand... He made the altar of incense... He also made the holy anointing oil and the pure, fragrant, and expertly blended incense."
Exodus 37:1,10,17,25,29
If you read the chapter(s) in which God detailed how the tabernacle, and everything in it, should be constructed, then you don't need to read this chapter. It's all a repeat. The only difference is that this chapter tells us who made these things: Bezalel.
I've heard it said before that this chapter praises Bezalel more than it praises the Lord. I disagree, though. It is specifically stated in previous chapters that Bezalel got his insight into how to create these things from God Himself. He could have made nothing without divine inspiration. This is the same way that most of us think about the bible itself: it was written by men who were inspired by God. The tabernacle is no different.
We should examine our own lives, as well, and see which of our creations are divinely inspired. I think that, if we're completely honest with ourselves, we'll find that the only things we create without His help are either evil or are simply lacking good qualities.
Question of the Day:
Do you see God's hand at work in your own daily work? Do you see ways in which your daily work could improve if you let God inspire you?
Prayer of the Day:
Give me the wisdom, knowledge, and insight to do my job the best way that it can be done. Help me know how You want me to live each day, so that my whole life may bring glory to You. Amen.
