A Christmas Break of Sorts

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control.  Against such things there is no law."
Galatians 5:22-23

If you go back and look at my opening posts when I first began this blog, you'll recall that one of my main reasons for starting this bible study in the first place was to monitor my own growth.  I'd like to take this Christmas season to reflect on that and share it with my readers.

It's been interesting to see how the pieces of the puzzle come together over these past few months.  Sometimes I lost interest and had to force myself to read and write.  Other times I lost faith that my words were helping others in any way.  Whatever the reasons, these temptations to drop this bible study and go back having no daily quiet time have been met with overwhelming strength by the Lord.  He has sent friends and family to encourage me, given me faith to trust that He is with me, and offered the endurance to carry on even when it was difficult.

It is with this in mind that I would like to take a break from my usual chapter-by-chapter study and focus in on the fruit that the Spirit has been growing in my life.  Each Spiritual fruit has been encouraged and uplifted at various intervals along the way, but the past week has shown me a culmination of all of them in a way that I've been needing for a long time.  To share this, I'll be using the Christmas holiday to share how I've grown in the Spirit, starting today with the fruit of love.
