"When you approach a city to fight against it, you must make an offer of peace. If it accepts your offer of peace and opens its gates to you, all the people found in it will become forced laborers for you and serve you. However, if it does not make peace with you but wages war against you, lay siege to it."
Deuteronomy 20:10-12
I think these are the verses that our supposedly Christian governing body has been looking at for far too long. Unfortunately, they're forgetting that the USA is not Israel, is not the chosen nation of God, and hasn't been told by God to go to war with the world.
If God had called us to go to war with every nation in the Middle East, we would know because victory would be swift and opposition would be weakened supernaturally. Instead, we continue to engage in wars against peoples who don't deserve our butchery. We murder innocent civilians all around the world, claiming that it's in our national defense interest.
The American people let this happen because we've been duped into believing that the rest of the world hates us for our riches and our freedoms. The truth we have failed to see is that we are poorer and less free than many of the people we kill. Presidential "executive orders" give the federal government the right to monitor, imprison, torture, and even assassinate anyone in the world (including American citizens at home or abroad). Our economy is in the worst state it's ever been in, and our government is bankrupt. I don't think the countries we drone-bomb are jealous of this state of affairs.
Question of the Day:
What can we do as citizens to reverse this assault on our personal God-given liberties?
Prayer of the Day:
Lead me and my fellow countrymen in the upcoming elections. Help us to oust the folks who are voting to take away our liberties and engage in endless wars. Help us to instate leaders who truly serve You and are not willing to be bought by the highest bidder. Help us elect representatives who are men and women of integrity. Help us to educate ourselves about current events instead of trusting the politicians and media to do it for us. Amen.
