"Man does not see what the Lord sees, for man sees what is visible, but the Lord sees the heart."
1 Samuel 16:7b
Do you remember why the people of Israel chose Saul to be their leader? When everyone was gathered in one place for the Lord to choose, Saul stood head and shoulders taller than every other man in Israel. He was the very image of masculinity and strength.
At least, that's what the people saw. The Lord sees more than that, though. God sees through the flesh and into the soul. He sees the heart of a man and makes his judgments based on the content, not the cover.
Question of the Day:
Have you ever judged a person by his/her appearance, and then later found out that you were completely wrong about your judgment? Have you judged anyone by their actions or the friends they hang out with? Will you choose, now, to let the Lord judge that person instead?
Prayer of the Day:
Lord forgive my judgmental heart and cleanse me of unrighteous thoughts I might have against certain people. Heal me of my unkindness and heal those who my unkindness has affected. Amen.
