"Then Michal took the household idol and put it on the bed, placed some goats' hair on its head, and covered it with a garment."
1 Samuel 19:13
You know that classic scene in movies where someone buys himself some time by stuffing pillows under the blankets to make people think he's still asleep? Whether the person in the movie is escaping or just a teenage kid sneaking out at night and trying to fool the parents, this trick came straight from the good ol' Bible.
When you really think about it, every major plot-line came from the bible, too. Action, adventure, horror, romance (even the raunchy kind), comedy, heart-wrenching tragedy... Even all that film noir stuff has its roots in the Holy Word.

Question of the Day:
Is it even possible to come up with something completely new that wasn't done in the bible first?
Prayer of the Day:
Lord, thank You for Your complete Word, which has a little bit of everything in it, and is capable of drawing all people into its wonders. Thank You for providing Your people with a text which has inspired so many different kinds of artistic wonders. Continue to move the hearts, minds, and souls of mankind to find new ways of expressing the same ages-old stories and morals taught in Your Word. Amen.
