Judges 4: A Woman Leads Israel

"Deborah, a woman who was a prophet and the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time."
Judges 4:4

I've heard all the arguments on both sides about whether or not women should be allowed to lead.  There have been times in my life when I have leaned in both directions of the argument.  This chapter confirms the position I've held for the last several years:

If the Lord chooses to Call a woman into leadership, she had best accept that role, and let no man stand in her way!

Here, we behold Deborah - a woman who essentially held the role of the sole ruler over the nation of Israel.  She was a prophet, and therefore Called by the Lord to take this position.  She even led Israel to another military victory.

Question of the Day:
If the Lord chose a woman for this role, what role would He not be willing to Call a woman into service for?

Prayer of the Day:
Lord, thank You for Creating men and women with such obvious physical, emotional, social, and even spiritual differences.  Thank You for Creating them in a way which compliments us (the men).  Thank You for the Calling which You have given to each individual, regardless of gender (or any other factor).  Help all of Your people to understand and accept Your Calling not only for ourselves but also for each of Your other followers, without prejudice.  Amen!
