"Villages were deserted in Israel until I, Deborah, I arose, a mother in Israel."
Judges 5:7
Mothers love. Mothers encourage. Mothers teach. Mothers have compassion. Mothers give and give until they have nothing left to give, and then they give some more.
Mothers lead. Whether the mother is the "head of the house" or not, she is obviously the brains of the house, knowing the details of each individual family member's needs, schedules, etc. Without her, the father would be hopelessly unable to bring his family together.
Mothers bring prosperity to the whole family.
Question of the Day:
Is there a mother in your life who you need to thank for all she gives, for all she loves, for all she ever does?
Prayer of the Day:
Thank You for bringing such wonderful mothers into my life! My own mother, my friends' mothers, my wife's mother... my wife herself! Thank You for structuring the family unit with such care and dedication that You included the idea of a mother. Thank You for blessing my son with such a wonderful example of a mother. Thank You for blessing my wife and myself with excellent mothers as well. Thank You for all the mothers who help take up the slack for motherless families. Thank You for the example that Your mother set for us in faithful obedience under fire. Help me, my son, and all of Your children live up to our mothers' greatest desires for us, and help us to honor our mothers in our every action! Amen!
