Numbers 13: Never Give Up, Never Surrender!

"Then Caleb quieted the people in the presence of Moses and said, 'We must go up and take possession of the land because we can certainly conquer it!'"
Numbers 13:30

While the rest of Moses's spies are lying and over-exaggerating about how powerful the Canaanites are, one man stands firm and tells the truth.  He knows that their foes are strong, but he knows that his God is stronger.

The rest reject Caleb's idea out of fear.  They seem to have forgotten the power with which the Lord removed them from Egypt.  If they do remember it, they are fearful that He won't provide the same power in a battle against the Canaanites.

Question of the Day:
When was the last time you felt the fear that comes from losing faith in the Lord's promises?  Why did you lose this faith, and what can you do to prevent yourself from losing it in the future?

Prayer of the Day:
Thank You for Your faithfulness, and for keeping me always in Your heart of hearts.  Forgive my unbelief, and help me to avoid it in the future.  Show me Your kindness and Your ability to keep Your word.  Never let me fear that You will not deliver on Your promises.  Never let fear distract me away from the future You have planned for me.  Amen.
