Numbers 7: Hearing the Voice of God

"When Moses entered the tent of meeting to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim.  He spoke to him that way."
Numbers 7:89

After the tent is consecrated, and after all twelve tribal leaders brought forth their gifts for the tabernacle, the holy meeting place was finally finished.  Moses entered to converse with the Lord, and he literally heard His voice.  How often do we ourselves hear this voice, or believe others who say they hear it?

Our modern culture has made it taboo to "hear voices in your head."  We tend to think this is a sign of insanity. However, when we read about it in the bible, we don't even think to question the authenticity of the claim that it's the Lord.  The same is true of dreams, visions, etc...

Question of the Day:
How do you tell the difference, in your own mind, between dreams/visions/voices that are from God and ones that are not?  Do you automatically assume that all of these are taboo?  Or do you analyze each one to see how it fits into God's Word and His Commandments?

Prayer of the Day:
Speak to me, Lord, and do not let me shun your voice.  Make me know it is Yours.  Amen.
