1 Samuel 2: Arrogance

"Do not boast so proudly, or let arrogant words come out of your mouth, for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and actions are weighed by Him."
1 Samuel 2:3

Who does arrogance hurt the most?  When all comes crashing down and the Lord takes back what He's given, the arrogance hurts the person who thought he/she had it all.

Challenge of the Day:
Give credit where credit is due.  Look at the various good aspects of your life, and ask yourself truthfully where you got them from?  Is it a great personality built and nourished by parents?  Is it a house that you couldn't have bought without the help of a spouse's second income (or a house that your spouse takes care of while you work)?  Is it a child that you birthed and/or raised who became successful?  Do you recognize that all of these are gifts from the Creator, given through others who He has blessed your life with?

Prayer of the Day:
Thank You for improving my life with countless blessings.  Help me to keep Your blessings in perspective and understand exactly where I'd be on my own.  Help me bring all blessings back to Your glory and lift up Your name in praise.  Amen.
